The honorable judge Sara ELHAIBA is a judge on the first instance court of Ben Guerir and a member of the International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ) and her Moroccan chapter the Union of Moroccan Women Judges (UMAWJ). She received a diploma from the law school at Hassan 2nd university in Casablanca with honors and did a Masters in Business law. In 2011, she passed the national contest of magistrature in Morocco and start sitting on the bench in February 2014. She attented and chaired divorce-related hearings, personal status and alimony, property law, labor law and also civil and criminal hearings (offenses and misdemeanors).
She took part in the IAWJ activities in other countries such as in Jordan in October 2015 and November 2015 about the practical obstacles that women face when attempting to access to courts and the IAWJ training of trainers workshop held in March 2016 in Marrakesh-Morocco. She also attented the 13th international biennial conference of the IAWJ and the MENA regional meeting in May and June 2016 in Washington DC-USA. She took part in the minor marriages workshop in October 2016 and differents training about sextortion in Casablanca and Rabat-Morocco during the year of 2017. She recently attended the 14th international biennial conference of the IAWJ in May 2018 in Buenos Aires- Argentina. She also attended in April 2019 in Marrakech a round table about sextortion.
She currently works among the Union of Women Judges as the vice secretary-general. She speaks Arabic, French and English and is working on her spanish and korean.Back to speakers
