Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kerekere-Ekun

HON. JUSTICE KUDIRAT KEKERE-EKUN obtained her LL.B Hons from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1980. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1981. She holds an LL.M from the London School of Economics and Political Science. After some private legal practice, she was appointed as a Magistrate in 1989. She was appointed as a Judge of the High Court of Lagos State, Nigeria in 1996. Between 1996 and 2004, she served on several committees, including:
* High Court of Lagos State Civil Procedure Rules Amendment Committee, which introduced innovations in case management and the application of ADR mechanisms for the speedy dispensation of justice. The innovations have since been adopted in most states of the Federation.
* Lagos Multi-Door Court House Steering Committee, which set up the first court-connected Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre in Africa. 

She was elevated to the Court of Appeal in 2004. She served in several divisions as well as Presiding Justice of two Divisions of the court. She was sworn in as the 5th female Justice of the Supreme Court on Monday 8th July 2013 She is a Life Bencher, a Fellow of the International Dispute Resolution Institute and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. She has delivered papers at workshops, seminars and training programmes for Magistrates and Judges. She has received several merit awards for service to the Judiciary.
